Pedoulas

Pedoulas Village is one of the most charming destinations in the Troodos Mountains, at an altitude of 1,100 meters in the Marathasa Valley. Known for its fresh mountain air, cherry orchards, and historic churches, Pedoulas offers both spiritual enrichment and natural beauty. One of its most significant landmarks is the Archangel Michael Church, a UNESCO World Heritage site built in 1474. Complementing it is the larger Church of the Holy Cross, home to a fragment of the Holy Cross and impressive Byzantine-style architecture.

Pedoulas is equally famous for its fruit production, especially cherries, which flourish in the fertile mountain climate. Each June, the village celebrates with the Cherry Festival, attracting visitors from across Cyprus to enjoy fresh cherries, traditional sweets, and cultural performances.

The Byzantine Museum of Pedoulas offers insight into centuries of religious art and history, housing icons, manuscripts, and ecclesiastical items. Meanwhile, the Folklore Museum gives a glimpse into traditional village life through exhibits of tools, household items, and crafts.
