    About Lythrodontas

Lythrodontas sits where the Nicosia plain begins to rise into the Machairas range, surrounded by some of the oldest and largest olive groves in Cyprus. Olive production has shaped the village for centuries and still does.

It is the usual approach to Machairas Monastery and the forest roads above it, and a common starting point for walks into the range.
